We are currently looking for an Associate Promotion Manager to be located in our Lincolnshire, IL location.


The Associate Promotion Manager will be responsible for assisting in the development and execution of channel-related sales activities. This includes initiatives that drive incremental revenue, assortment breadth, and sales growth. Additionally this involves activities that drive revenue through channel partners, such as promotions, visual merchandising, events and branded merchandise.  This role will liaison with internal and external departments including sales, manufacturing, customer service, marketing, product management, administrative and legal.


Specific responsibilities will include:


  1. Manage all aspects of a promotional project; including financial analysis, administrative, marketing, production, logistics and communication both internally to management and delegated departments and externally to the sales team, customers, end-users and vendors. This covers projects from conception, continuing through development, execution and final post-review.


  1. Assist in the development and execution of channel-related sales activities. Includes initiatives that drive incremental revenue, assortment breadth, and sales growth.


  1. Assist in the conceptualization, development, and launch of visual-merchandising gondolas, displays, signs, quarter-pallets, counter displays, large free-standing semi-permanent displays and other visual-merchandising products that will drive sales and build the brand.


  1. Develop collateral marketing materials (brochures, catalogs, easels, posters, tear-pads) as requested. Responsible for providing concepts and copy. Work primarily with the Graphics team, but on occasion create these materials independently. Manage the RFQ, order request, inspection documentation, inventory and distribution of these materials.   Additionally, manage inventory levels and reorders of all items. Develop and maintain reports, inspection criteria, product data and imagery of all branded items.


  1. Serve as a back-up Event Coordinator. Capable of planning, setting-up and executing events, including trade shows.


  1. Develop brand merchandise that aligns with company philosophies and customers. Merchandise must contain elements of creativity, innovation while being leading edge. Work with vendors, graphics, sales, and logistic teams to bring these items to market from concept through development and launch. Additionally, manage inventory levels and reorders of all items. Develop and maintain reports, inspection criteria, product data and imagery of all branded items.


  1. Build stable, positive relationships with peers, supervisors, managers, all internal and external customers. Effectively manage, process and present verbal and written information. Respond to information requests timely and accurately, providing others with information in advance of potential issues.


  1. Analyze and solve routine and complex problems. Full use of principles, concepts and techniques. Identify trends and present recommended solutions to address future occurrences.


  1. Demonstrate thorough technical proficiency of systems in relation to the position.


  1. Able to process accurate information necessary to handle all aspects of the position. Communicates up and down the command chain to safeguard awareness on projects and activities. Plans coverage on all projects and activities to handle all scheduled absences. Performs all other duties and works necessary overtime as assigned.


  1. Perform all other duties as assigned.


Bachelor’s Degree required from a four-year accredited college or university in Business or related discipline and three (3) to five (5) years related experience required. Prior experience within big-box retail, hardware, electrical distributor, construction channel and/or industrial channel preferred. Must possess advanced Microsoft Office skills. Must possess Adobe Creative Suite proficiency – Acrobat, InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.  Experience with AS400, Agile and PIM System strongly desired, but not required. Must possess excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills with the ability to work on cross-functional teams in both leadership and member roles.  Must be an effective positive communicator. 


Must demonstrate a thorough understanding of retail dynamics and P&L financial analysis. Demonstrates strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects at once. Must possess strong analytical skills with the ability to present data, summarize findings and propose recommendations. Must have the ability to identify requirements and possess problem solving skills. Quick learning and initiative - must have the ability to identify required information quickly and efficiently.  Must have strong project management skills and be a strategic thinker and creative marketer. Dynamic, motivated, and entrepreneurial minded with an internal drive to continuously hit goals and deadlines within fast-paced, high energy environments.  Must promote respect, credibility and trust throughout the organization.


Must possess the desire to develop an understanding of the company’s products - what it makes, who the competition is or how it competes, both in core products and peripheral categories. The desire to understand what end-users want, how they think, how they speak, how they behave and how/where they shop.  This product knowledge is necessary to be effective in developing promotional concepts.
