    General Machine Products, a Klein Tools company, located in Suburban Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is a manufacturer of a wide range of products for the telecommunications, power utility and cable television industries, and the contractors who serve them.

    We are currently looking for a Senior IT Applications Analyst to be located in our Trevose, PA Facility.

    Responsibilities

    A Senior IT Applications Analyst analyzes, designs, and supports application systems, facilitating cost effective business solutions. Manages multiple projects which are typically business critical. Is an expert/specialist in a business area, a technical subject matter expert, or a generalist with extensive knowledge and experience in multiple business areas or technical topics. Develops detailed program specifications, documents integration solutions, creates high level testing plans, and provides information and guidance necessary to seamlessly transition designed systems to the operations and support areas.

     

    Specific Responsibilities will include: 

     

    1. Interact with Business Community and the IT department in the delivery of assigned systems solutions.

     

    1. Build expert knowledge of company business applications systems and maintains frequent contact with members of the Business Community.

     

    1. Gather and document business systems requirements including scope, objectives, solution alternatives, solution analyses, and solution recommendations.

     

    1. Assist in the definition, assessment, and implementation of Project Definition processes and process improvements.

     

    1. Develop system and user test plans, user documentation, and training materials.

     

    1. Participates in the design, development and testing of business application systems, user acceptance testing and business user training.

     

    1. Leading small‐ to mid‐size systems projects which may include leadership of IS staff, vendors and business users.

     

    1. Define objectives, identifies milestones and time‐lines and monitor performance relative to the established project plans for small, medium, and large size projects, using accepted project management methodologies.

     

    1. Mentor less experienced team members, providing training and guidance as needed.

     

    1. Supervise the work of team members assigned to assist with the project segments of limited complexity, ensuring compliance to system life cycle methodologies and coding standards and resolving any problems, which occur.

     

    1. Perform other duties as required within the nature and level of work.

    Qualifications

    Qualified applicants will possess a Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science or other related field with a minimum of five 5﴿ years of business systems analysis experience.

     

    Experience with RPG programming, five 5﴿ years minimum experience desired.

     

    Working knowledge of and experience with Infor XA ERP MAPICS﴿ software.

     

    Software development technologies and the entire system development life cycle in the IBMi environments.

     

    Working knowledge of the IBM AS400/Poweri series operating system.

     

    Proficient with common desktop applications, such as Microsoft Office, Project, and Outlook.  Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills.  Demonstrates strong relationship development and communications skills, written and verbal.  General knowledge of the manufacturing industry and technology systems/techniques used to meet business challenges of today.
